Frank’s CVG (Coir – Vermiculite – Gypsum) Bucket Method

• in a 5 gallon bucket
• one approximately 650 g brick Coir
• 2 quarts vermiculite
• 4.5 – 5 quarts boiling water
• place lid, let stand 1-3 hours
• —
• mix it up
• add 2 Tbsp gypsum (optional: and 1/4 cup calcium carbonate)
• mix again
• cover and cool 12 hours

yield: approximately 10 quarts

Bod’s EAF Bucket TEK

• in a 5 gallon bucket
• one approximately 650 g brick Coir
• 5X (the weight of the coir, app 3250 ml) boiling water
• place lid, let stand 1-3 hours
• —
• mix it up
• cover and cool 12 hours
• check field capacity, adjust with water/vermiculite as needed
• optional: add 2 Tbs gypsum and/or 1/4 cup calcium carbonate

yield: approximately 10 quarts
